The flying fox/fruit bat are primates related to lemurs. They have a 1 metre wingspan and can fly over 50kms a night while feeding. During the day they group together in 'camps', hanging upside down from branches of trees. They have excellent vision and feed on nectar, pollen, fruit and leaves, and are usually very noisy. They are vital for rainforests, as they spread seeds and pollen over long distances.
