Franco' by Tenuta Lenzini is a 100% Cabernet Franc made from artisanal methods by Michele and Benedetta, small vignerons based in Gragnano in the province of Lucca. It ferments spontaneously in concrete tanks and gives itself to the nose with 'frank' aromas (as the name suggests!) and typical of the original grape variety. In the mouth it is soft and enveloping, with a long, vegetal and earthy finish. Ah, its name is a tribute to Benedetta's grandfather, without whom this winery would not even exist; thanks Franco!

The 'Franco' of Tenuta Lenzini is one of the latest arrivals of Tenuta Lenzini: a Cabernet Franc that wants to pay homage to the founder of the winery: Franco, the Benedetta's grandfather, now at the helm of the company together with her husband Michele. A red with a Tuscan soul produced in Gragnano, in the heart of the Lucca hills, with passion and craftsmanship, without frills or added chemicals. "Benedetta's grandfather is back" exclaims Michele Guarino on his social channels, "and it is thanks to him that this Estate exists today as you know it!" .
The Cabernet Franc 'Franco' Tenuta Lenzini is a very recognizable red, both on the nose and in the mouth, which breaks a bit the paradigms of €˜classic Tuscany always and only devoted to Sangiovese. Here at Tenuta Lenzini international vines such as Merlot, Syrah and Cabernet have always been at home here, to be precise since the 16th century when Napoleon's troops crossed these areas, where the Via Francigena passed. In this case the vinification is classic: the fermentation is activated with only indigenous yeasts and takes place in cement tanks, while the refinement lasts for 6 months in steel and stoneware vats.
The €˜Franco signed Tenuta Lenzini is a pure Cabernet Franc with an easily recognizable organoleptic profile that well recalls the typical characteristics of the starting varietal. The color is intense red with ruby shades, on the nose it emanates vegetal aromas, of green pepper and tomato leaf with clear references to the earth and wild herbs. Its peculiarity is certainly the taste: the sip is soft and enveloping, but the alcohol content is low so as to transfer to the drinker a greater lightness on the palate. A summer red then? No, even better: a wine for all seasons!
