Hermitage is well known to lovers of the RhÃ´ne cru wines based on the noble Syrah grape. The Crozes
Hermitage is located in the Northern RhÃ´ne appellation which offers the greatest wealth of expression. In terms of surface area and number of winemakers, it is the primary vineyard area of Cave de Tain (16 times larger than the Hermitage vineyard), where we encounter two types of soils: granite and galets (small surface stones) in infinite combinations:
gravelly and filtering soils of the RhÃ´ne or the IsÃ¨re in the south
mainly granite soils in a fresher climate in the north
