Located at the foot of the coast to the south of the medieval village of Saint-Emilion, the terroir of Chteau Canon La Gaffelire is composed of clay-limestone and clay-sandy soils, very filtering, particularly receptive to heat. Due to the nature of the soils, the grape variety has an atypical structure with regard to the appellation, characterized by a perfect balance between Merlot and Cabernet.
