• 2016 Michele Chiarlo Barolo Cerequio Riserva
The Michele Chiarlo Barolo Cerequio Riserva is the first Barolo to be distributed worldwide through the Place du Bordeaux. Only the affiliated wine merchants (including Grand Cru wines) are able to obtain this wine. The Michele Chiarlo Barolo Cerequio Riserva comes from La Morra from a vineyard with an area of 2.5 Ha. The soil consists of calcareous marl of sedimentary marine origin from the Tortonian period (9 million years ago) which is characterized by an alkaline pH, poor in organic matter, but rich in microelements such as magnesium and manganese. The vineyard has a South, south-west exposure and is located at an altitude of 320 meters. Of course, harvesting is done by hand only. The Riserva is only made in the top years. The wine is aged for 12 months in 700 liter tonneaux, then aged for another 2 years in large barrels. The wine is then bottled without undergoing filtration and ages in the bottle for a minimum of 24 months before being released on the market.
