The roots of Brane Cantenac can be traced back to the beginning of the 18th century. At the time, it belonged to the Gorce family and was known as Château Gorce (and for a while as Château Gorce Guy). Henri Lurton has been the director of this Château since 1992, which has been owned by the Lurton family since 1925. The excellent quality of the terroir, which is inextricably linked to the owner's perfectionism, makes this wine truly insanely beautiful. One of the best brands from the Medoc with a guaranteed fixed value. Today, the Château consists of 90 hectares of vineyards in the Margaux appellation. The largest vineyard covers 45 hectares and is located next to the Château on the plateau de Brane. The 2nd vineyard (22 hectares) is located further north near Soussans. The other vineyards are further south near Arsac. The terroir consists mainly of gravel, but to a lesser extent also of sand and clay. This Margaux consists of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Baron de Brane is the second wine of Château Brane Cantenac.
